We are hiring an Accessibility Compliance Tester to join our client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing websites, software, digital tools, and documents to ensure they are accessible and comply with current accessibility standards, including Section 508, W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Oklahoma Electronic Information Technology Accessibility (OEITA) standards.
Perform manual and automated accessibility testing on websites, software applications, and digital documents.
Ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as Section 508, WCAG, and OEITA.
Identify and document accessibility issues, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
Conduct accessibility audits of digital assets, ensuring they meet required guidelines and provide a user-friendly experience for individuals with disabilities.
Review new and existing content and features to ensure accessibility standards are maintained.
Prepare reports on audit findings, highlighting areas of improvement and providing actionable recommendations.
Work with developers, designers, and content creators to provide guidance on improving accessibility.
Educate teams on best practices for accessibility and ensure compliance is maintained throughout the development process.
Assist in training and providing resources to staff regarding accessibility compliance.
Maintain detailed records of testing processes, results, and compliance status.
Create clear, concise reports to communicate accessibility issues and their resolutions.
Track and manage issues through to resolution and document improvements made to enhance accessibility.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in accessibility testing, web development, or quality assurance.
Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and platforms (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse).
In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards, including Section 508, WCAG, and OEITA.
Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to accessibility issues.
Familiarity with content management systems and web development frameworks.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential accessibility barriers.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
